Welcome Back Message from Our Superintendent and Board of Education

Welcome Back Message from Our Superintendent and Board of Education

Greetings and Happy New Year to Our Central Islip Friends and Neighbors,

Welcome back to school after what we hope was a happy and healthy New Year celebration for everyone. It was heartwarming to see the tremendous support by families, school staff, friends and alumni who turned out to enjoy our 2024 Winter Concert Series featuring performances by our talented student musicians in partnership with their music teachers. We also witnessed countless acts of kindness by our students toward some of our less fortunate neighbors under the guidance of their teachers and staff members.

With 2024 in our rearview mirrors, we look ahead with anticipation as 2025 unveils roadways to exciting new beginnings and opportunities that await us in our classrooms, on our athletic fields and across our stages. We are proud to embrace our students’ families as partners so, together, we can work to foster our children’s educational and personal growth, for they are, after all, our future.

We encourage you to stay connected by visiting our website at www.centralislip.k12.ny.us or any of the various social media platforms for the latest school district calendar of events, updates, news and weather-related school closings.

Before we close our New Year greeting, we would like to share two quotes whose messages provoke inspiration and determination to be our best selves:

“Every day is a chance to begin again. Don’t focus on the failures of yesterday. Start today with positive thoughts and expectations.” –Catherine Pulsifer, author of books on self-improvement and personal growth.

“The direction you choose to face determines whether you’re standing at the end or beginning of a road.” –Michelle E. Goodrich, author/artist of published quotes in the “Oxford Philosophy of Being Human” and in eight “Chicken Soup for the Soul” books.

We want to cap off this message on behalf of the entire Central Islip School District team by wishing a very Happy New Year to all our school community and friends, old and new!

Warm regards,

Dr. Sharon A. Dungee
