Superintendents Conference Day Filled with Recognition, Information for 2024-25 School Year

One more day! 

On the eve of the first day of the 2024-25 school year, the Central Islip School District gathered its faculty and staff in the auditorium in Central Islip High School for Superintendent's Conference Day.

Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Sharon A. Dungee, welcomed all returning and new staff members to begin the day, followed by a "Welcome Back" video for all to enjoy.

Following Dr. Dungee's remarks, Mr. Matthew Matera, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, recognized CI employee who were celebrating milestone years of service.

Celebrating 30 years of service were Carlos A. Alejandro, Gregory Alpers, Mary E. Blomberg, Michelle A. Corcione, Ilene K. Edelson, Antoinette Esposito, Karen L. Felton, Diane Garnett, Janine M. Henry, Dafny Irizarry, Guadalupe M. Laudanno, Thereze Madison, Elizabeth Nash, and Dr. Mary Rene Schwarz.

Maureen Walinski was applaued by the entire auditorium as Dr. Dungee congratulated her on her 50 years of service.

Department heads led meetings throughout the high school and a Superintendents Luncheon was the last item on the agenda before meetings commenced with building principals.
